Permanent weight loss might seem impossible with the many stories of people dropping weight only to put it back on a few months later, but with the right attitude and lifestyle changes you can keep the extra weight off for the rest of your life. All it takes is maintaining simple and healthy changes that many people stop doing once they’ve lost the weight.
An exercise routine is probably the first thing to go when people lose weight because they often choose routines that are designed for quick weight loss. After you lose weight it’s important to keep working out but you don’t need to overdo it. Something as simple as taking the dog for one extra walk a day or doing some extra cleaning around the home can burn extra calories and keep your body moving enough for your metabolism to get a jumpstart. A few minutes a day to do anything active is a good step towards permanent weight loss.
The foods you eat is another necessity for permanent weight loss. You don’t need to cut the things you enjoy completely out of your life; you just need to moderate how much you are eating. If you want that slice of cake after dinner, see if someone wants to split it with you. If you want to add calories and fats into your meal for one day make sure that you are taking out calories and fat somewhere else. Drinking a lot of water is also a lifestyle change that will help keep the weight off. These are all really simple changes you can make to your routine that won’t have you gaining back fat.
